The nerds [ as Suigetsu has so lovingly called them, and so she has adopted that selfsame nickname ] went down below deck, while we stayed up to help put up the sails and stuff.
We saw a blue light in the distance, where the ship was heading, but a giant storm started coming in... and this really big sea dragon. They were all yelling about how it was God's punishment for a city that went against their religion, or something like that.
(Could this have something to do with the whole "going against their religion" thing? He also stops a moment and seems to just... look around the market they're in.
Spreading across sections of land connected by the canals exists a large open space decorated with a variety of damaged sculptures. It's difficult to discern what they could have been, but there are fragments that appear to be wing-shaped.)
...
This morning, Nanaly and I searched the canals with Kiku. (Currently in magpie form on his shoulder but she shifts to otter form, landing on his feet and looking very proud of herself,) We saw a memory from the past that was similar but different.
(He crosses his arms,)
I'll explain more later. Please, continue. What happened after you met the dragon?
Nope. Blue light, like the one coming from Krankaz itself.
[ Even as Tsurumaru speaks, she's gonna be scampering off, picking up stuff off the desecrated market floors, turning them around in the light, what have you. Such a lowkey magpie, almost. Honestly, she's not surprised in the slightest to hear that the statues had been defaced, yet again. Seems to be a commonly running theme. ]
I dunno, actually. The boat tried its best to sail towards the big city with the blue light, they were saying stuff about how the city turned their backs on God or whatever because they made weapons. [ Remember the lowkey fantasy techpunk from Krankaz, Tsuru? ] And said how everyone was being punished for them not repenting.
Still, the boat looked like it was heading towards that city, though, so?
[ It's very clear she doesn't get it but like, whatever yk. ] We ended up getting all knocked over by the dragon anyway. It got all dark, and...
[ Hmm. She pauses here for a moment, but just moves on after a second. ] We all woke up in this weird, dark cave. Looked really similar to the cave I was running around earlier that week but like, darker, with no paintings or signs of living there. We got attacked by a bunch of zombie fishmen, fought out way out, and that's how we got out!
(It matches up with what Dokja was able to explain before his own side of the story diverged to what he experienced.
Tsurumaru notes that moment of silence from Power but he's never been one to press. If it's important, it will surely come up again. For now, he seems satisfied with what he's heard,)
And that's why you're making Ritty is prepared.
(Kiku lets out a low tweet. Poor Ritty.)
Thank you, Power. (He inclines his head in a small, grateful bow.) In return, I'll help you find the perfect armor for your friend.
Yeah! Ritty got all wet and cold. But he's a good daemon -- he kept me warm even after we washed up.
[ Rip to the rest of the nerds who just got hypothermia, while Power was able to cuddle her dog and be warm in heart and body. ]
If it comes to it though, I think Ritty should have a weapon to defend himself with. [ MA'AM THAT'S AN ANIMAL. But she grins a bit more. Heck yeah. ] Something protective but nothing that'll weigh him down! He's fast, like me!
Week 2, Wednesday
And to the markets they go! Tsurumaru will begin to poke around the stalls for Power. As he does, he'll ask,)
You're training because of last week, you said?

It'll be an annoyance if me or my daemon gets hurt where we're least expecting it.
[ Like getting thrown into the sea... 2! ]

(Just going to out some scrap cloth (old handkerchiefs?) from one basket.)
What happened from your perspective?

A blue light. Like a lighthouse?
(But hmmm...)
The statues in the last city were defaced.
