Farsightedness. I've had poor vision since childhood. These [He gestures at the glasses.] are for correcting it.

So you can only see far away and not close...

(He looks at the distance between them. It isn't much. Probably a comfortable distance?)

Yes. It would be very hard to miss someone standing right in front of my face.

What if you took them off? How far can you see without them? ... Or near? Hm.

[Kim doesn't take them off to humour him. He just answers.]

Everything would just be a blur of colours. Close objects, even more so.

Far away... it's only marginally better. I can see large, distinct shapes, but the details blur together.

(It doesn't sound so bad when it's like that. He thinks it might even be better than seeing clearly sometimes.)

I see. Do you prefer being able to see clearly ahead? Or would you rather embrace uncertainty?

(He assumes the former considering he's wearing the glasses but he still has to ask like the vague cryptid he is.)

The novelty of seeing the world like it's an abstract painting wears off after about twenty seconds or so.

So, yes, I would rather see clearly.
