(Kiku begins to peck at the weeds! Surely, something as small and delicate as her would be better than Yuri...
Or one would think. She pecks at something in the dirt and curious, Tsurumaru reaches to see what it is which triggers a memory--)
Darkness covers you like a cold, heavy blanket. You don't know how long you've been resting but you think that after all of this time, you can finally sleep once and for all. You are in a tomb, buried with treasures like silk, embroidered balls, and other decorated blades. You linger close to the marker for your master, one center with the main family but smaller than the rest.
Something catches your attention and you look around, alert for the first time in what feels like an eternity. Suddenly, there is moonlight where there had only been darkness. A small group of men enters and begin to rummage through the boxes and urns, taking whatever strikes their fancy.
But one man cuts directly towards you, his decision already made. You are filled with anxiety and desperation as you realize what is happening. You recognize the crest he bears as the same one that put your family in this grave. Even in death, they can't be left in peace. He grabs you firmly, makes his claim, and takes you from your grave. Your spirit cries, you yearn to return to the one you were meant to be with, and you feel like a piece of you list left behind and lost in the earth.
(
... The music probably kills the overall vibe, though.
In the present, Tsurumaru holds the piece of glass Kiku unearthed, fully aware of what has happened.)
honestly, yuri doesn't know what to make of it. there was nothing for him to hear dialogue wise though, other than the moments where that OTAMATONE just rocked up and ruined the melancholy. it's not like he knows what a sword spirit is or that tsuru is one so he's just
(He's being honest! He really is! But to give Yuri a little clue... he'll tap his sword which is, according to his profile, also called Tsurumaru Kuninaga.)
yuri just makes an aborted hand gesture like. if anyone was around this would be a "do you see the shit i deal with" kind of motion, but luckily(?) for both of them
(The catch here is if he wants to ask or talk about what he saw, it opens himself up for more questions and honestly? The memories they shared with each other don't even compare.
Even without much sound, he can understand what's happening. When the memory ends, Tsurumaru is quiet for a moment. )
This exchange is hardly fair.
(A safe, warm memory of being cared for versus the serious, somber memory of being someoen's second at their suicide.)

Not weeds, exactly. Herbs.

[ hm. ]
Alright then, there’s enough about you to suggest you’re not human. A spirit, or ghost or something?

How does that even work?

Entelexeia make more sense than that. Literally anything? Like... a building over 100 years old has a soul?

he's interrupted before he can speak (35:23 - 38:20). tsuru can hear as much or as little as you wish him to. ]

I'll be sure to complain to the mirror shards for you.

Yeah, well. No one else wanted to do it.
