[ polaris smells a kindred spirit. as much as a bird can smell anyways. his neck cranes at kaeya like "see? someone appreciates me? and all the beautiful presents i leave behind?" polaris dips down and takes a feather, placing it forward.
--kaeya feels a twinge of unease and clears his throat--
before stepping back.
it will fade to dust after a few hours, but polaris for some reason likes giving them away???? ]
It isn't that I don't understand, far from it. It's just that if I have to wake with one more huge quill stuck in my ass I don't know what I'll do.
(Ah. Tsurumaru looks at the offering. There's a quick, brief glance over towards Kaeya and a moment of consideration before Kiku alights, hopping on the ground in front of Polaris and taking the feather. It's bigger than she is but she makes it work, skipping off with it and taking flight once more. Tsurumaru stands up, holding open his bag for her to deposit the feather in.)
Such a generous creature... (A bow of the head towards Polaris,) Thank you.
(This is the best he can do for now.)
... Well, it isn't my concern how you decide to sleep. (Especially if you are ending up with feathers in your ass????) I hope you slept well last night, though.
[ HE SOMETIMES SLEEPS TUCKED BEHIND HIS KNEES OKAY. IT'S HOW IT HAPPENS. ]
Like a baby, unfortunately. Once the door locked, I didn't think I would be able to fall asleep at all.
[ he looks down at polaris and softly strokes beneath his chin. generous dumb bird. he watches kiku with a light smile, the quick, darting motions surprisingly elegant to watch. ]

(Tsurumaru is quiet as he listens to Kaeya, thinking about the answer.)
After the building trapped us and the sounds began, I'd planned on staying awake... but then I awoke this morning.
(So, same. Kiku lands on Tsurumaru's head and does one, single skip and chirp as if to confirm. Yeah, it was weird??)
