(Good morning God has let Tsurumaru live another day and he's here to make it everyone's problem because he's hungry. This is so rude. He's never wanted subsistence in his entire existence. He has always been fed and taken care of! So what is he supposed to do now?
...
It's a good thing he has a deal with a cook. So he's going to go looking for his new friend. In his arms, he carries a river noodle against his chest. She's just too big to ride on his shoulders but can't really keep up with him on the ground when he's running around all day.
(It's later in the evening when Tsurumaru seeks out Nero! In the kitchen? By the bubble? It doesn't matter where. All that matters is Tsurumaru is going to find him. Or rather, Kiku is who lets out a squeak (or however you describe otter sounds....) and starts to bound over towards him.)
(A child leads the way skipping across the veranda and pulling you by the hand. It's hard to hear what he's saying because of the music that plays but his laughter breaks through and his lips read your name.
Your feet carry you. There's a sense of heaviness that you aren't quite used to yet. As you pass, you see others. There are some that you recognize and others you don't. The building is large, the garden is beautiful.
The child leads you to the kitchen where two men are making something. When you arrive, the one with the eyepatch lights up. As for the other, there's a brief moment of interest that quickly gives way to a scowl. The boy pats you on the arm and says something before running off.
The man with the eye patch takes charge. He picks up a tray from the counter and herds you out toward the garden to sit on the veranda outside. The three of you sit together and he sets down the tray revealing something colorful. He says something... words of encouragement perhaps? And you reach to take one of the sticks.
The scowling man watches you from the side of his eye, clearly interested. The man with the eyepatch smiles patiently.
You take your first bite-- and a flurry of cherry blossoms appear around you. The last thing you hear is a round of laughter.)
(Where ever Nero is, Tsurumaru is going to find him and
shove a little tray of food at him. There's a bowl of rice, a small bowl of soup, one small grilled fish and some water.
Sure, the rice looks a little dry but it's largely inoffensive. The soup looks more like a broth and... well, it's pretty light in color? It looks watery. The fish looks fine... from this side.)
(It's lunch time so Tsurumaru is going to track Nero down. He's demonstrated already he can't cook for himself and relies on others for good meals so feed him.)
(And he's just going to lead Nero to somewhere private where they can finally catch up. When they're alone, he'll take his fancy new robe and just drape it over him.)

This memory was at least nice. There's something comforting about something simple like this. Nothing stressful, just a slice of life.]
